Key concepts
| Companies and accounts | Companies are organizations in Apollo not yet saved to your workspace. Accounts are companies saved in your team's Apollo workspace. To search your saved accounts, use search for accounts. |
| Search, profile retrieval, and enrichment | Organization search finds companies that match your criteria. Get complete organization info shows a company's profile using its Apollo ID. Use organization enrichment to match company information you already have and retrieve available details, such as revenue, employee counts, funding, and parent companies. |
| Identifying a company | Organization search returns company IDs that you can pass to profile retrieval, job postings, or news search. For enrichment, identify a company using its domain, LinkedIn URL, or website. You can also provide its name to improve match accuracy. |

Example workflows
Find and qualify target companies
Build a list of companies that match your target criteria, then retrieve more details to assess their fit.
- Call organization search with filters such as industry, location, or employee count. Retain the Apollo IDs and domains of the companies you want to research.
- Pass each company's ID to get complete organization info to retrieve its profile. To enrich several companies at once, pass up to 10 domains through the
domains[]parameter of bulk organization enrichment. - Use the available company details, such as revenue, headcount, and funding, to prioritize companies that fit your sales criteria.
If you already have company domains in your system, you can skip search and pass them directly to bulk organization enrichment.

Prioritize companies using hiring and news
Research hiring activity and recent news to identify companies with potential needs your product can address.
- Call organization search to find target companies and retain their Apollo IDs.
- Pass each company's ID as
organization_idto organization job postings. Review the roles and locations where the company is hiring. - Pass the company IDs through
organization_ids[]to news articles search. Narrow the results by news category or publication date to find relevant developments. - Use the hiring activity and news to prioritize outreach and tailor your messaging.
