Use this endpoint to retrieve notes associated with contacts, accounts, deals, calendar events, or conversations in your team's Apollo workspace. You can filter notes by creation date and sort the results to bring relevant context into your own system.
Key concepts
| Notes and associated records | Notes capture information related to a contact, account, deal, calendar event, or conversation. Retrieval requires at least one associated record ID; you can't retrieve every note in your workspace without specifying a record. |
| Identifying the record | Use the parameter that matches the record whose notes you need: contact_id, account_id, opportunity_id, calendar_event_id, or conversation_id. A deal uses opportunity_id. You can also provide multiple contact or conversation IDs through contact_ids or conversation_ids. |

Example workflows
Retrieve contact notes before follow-up
Bring a contact's saved notes into your system so your team can review relevant context before reaching out.
- Call search for contacts to find the saved contact and retain their
id. - Pass the contact ID as
contact_idto get a list of notes. To retrieve only notes created on or after a particular date, includestart_date. - Review the returned notes. Use
sort_by_fieldset tocreated_atorupdated_at, withsort_directionset todesc, to show the newest or most recently updated notes first.
If you already have the contact ID, you can skip search. Use limit and skip to retrieve additional notes when the results span multiple requests.
